Walk in Peru

Churupampa.jpg

This February, we’re taking a journey to the land of rainforests, sand dunes, Machu Picchu, pre-Columbian art, and Nazca Lines. That’s right: we’re highlighting the Stumptown Peruvian single origin 'Churupampa.' This bean comes courtesy of the Tocto family’s 15 hectare farm near the small town of Chirinos near Peru's Ecuadorian border. The Tocto family uses no herbicides or pesticides to grow their coffee cherries, and utilize guinea pig manure and other local organic biowaste to enhance their compost. This full-bodied and smooth coffee features notes of almond and brown sugar, and is perfectly suited for those chilly LA February mornings. Come try a mug this month at Swork, or pick up a 12oz bag of beans to bring a taste of Peru home!
